Irfan and Fawcett examined specimens in 13 herbaria of Asia, Europe and the U.S. and verified the presence of 6 genera and 8 species of the Thelypteridaceae in Pakistan. They also examined images of relevant type specimens stored in JSTOR Global Plants database. Their paper includes a key to the species and, for each species,  a nomenclatural summary, description, illustration, distribution and ecological notes, and a list of the specimens examined.  It is an Open Access paper.
