This list was constructed to aid creation of instructions for developing checklists in OpenHerbarium. It is based on records in OpenHerbarium and GBIF on 1 Nov 2023.  When created it had 14 families, 33 genera, and 31 species. Of these 12 families, 31 genera, and all 31 species are of flowering plants. The other 2 families and genera are Ascomycete fungi. There are undoubtedly more plant and fungal species present in the district and specimens of them may exist but their records were not accessible at when the list was created. Anyone wishing to work towards increasing documentation of the district's fungal and plant diversity is encouraged to contact Mary Barkworth so their efforts may be reflected in this checklist.
